Creme de Menthe Bars (Original)
 
  • 1/2 c margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 c cocoa
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 c margarine
  • 1/3 c creme de menthe
  • 3 c powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c margarine
  • 2 c chocolate chips
  • Melt the 1/2 c margarine (about 35 seconds in the microwave).
  • Add the egg, graham crackers, cocoa, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  • Pat mixture into a 9x13 pan and put it in the freezer.
  • Melt the 1/2 c margarine (about 20 seconds in the microwave). Add creme de menthe and 3 c powdered sugar and beat with a mixer.
  • Spread on top of the crust (it will be runny). Chill 1 hour in the refrigerator until good and firm.
  • Melt the 1/4 c margarine and chocolate chips on the stove just to the melting point, so that the chocolate is good and thin but not too hot.
  • Spread *seriously* fast on chilled green stuff.
  • Chill at least 20 minutes, but cut the bars before it gets too cold (check every 10 minutes after the first 20).
