THE COLORED PENCILS Most GMs used to do results at least one day a week. Neil used colored pencils on the pieces of paper he used for scoring so that he could more easily identify which points had been scored on a particular date. The colored pencils were retired after the 1997-1998 season with the advent of the first semi-automated results, andunofficiallybecame the first inductee into the DOH Hall of Fame at the first draft banquet, held in Chicago on Oct. 10, 1999. Below are two photos (taken by Jay Mize) of what remains of the colored pencils.
