Week 5: Brian Boucher

Boucher wins the Turdunken!

During the Thanksgiving week, Brian Boucher turned in an impressive performance, scoring a total of 9 points (4 points against the Monkeys and 5 points against the Greens) and ensuring two wins for the Damage. Boucher leads all Damage goalies with 33 DOH points this season.

Boucher also earned a special honor this Thanksgiving—John Madden’s famed turdunken—for his punt block in the Cowboys-Redskins game.

I can’t believe you blocked that punt.

Well, me and John here had been kinda drinkin’ in his bus all day. He was cookin’ that tur-whatever-it-is—three kinds of birds thing. It smelled pretty good. Anyway, we went to the game and I was still pretty drunk and I was getting hungry. So I ask John for his bird.

[JM] Boom! I said, You gotta hit the guy here like that. And two feet equals one knee or sometimes an elbow.

I think he gives the turdunken to the most valuable player in the football game.

Yeah, I got the impression you gotta do something amazing, like make a lot of sacks or make a touchdown. I was really hungry, so I hopped the rail, ran out on the field, and blocked a punt.

[JM] He went up in the air and the kicker kicked the ball — Boom! And then it went off of Brian — Whap! And you can see here where he went up to get to the ball with the thing and the other thing and then he went up to get it ‘cause if you don’t go up you can’t block the ball after it’s going up ‘cause it’s not going down.

John’s still pretty drunk, eh?

Hard to tell.

So you jumped out of the stands and ran right onto the field?

Yup.

You were wearing your goalie equipment at the football game?

Shut up.

At this point the interview terminated when John Madden yelled "Whap!" and hit this reporter on the back of the head with what, upon later examination, appeared to be a leg of duck. We all had a good laugh about it while we drank Thunderbird and Madden and Boucher each tried to stitch up my head wound.
